Setting the bar: Realtor shares insight on how the buying & selling process should be
We caught up with Ryan Furman, Realtor®, based in Arizona, who gave us great insight on real estate and a little bit on his background. Get to know Ryan and be sure to reach out to him for your Realtor needs in the Valley!
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in a family of real estate developers. In 2002, I moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University, fell in love with the Valley, and have been here ever since. During my time here, I have been immersed in real estate, working in property management, completing several of my own fix-&-flips, and working as a Realtor. I have a strong business oriented mind and deeply understand the idea of property investing, as well as the importance of finding a home that you will truly love to live in.
Please tell us a little about yourself and how you became involved in what you do.
I’ve been involved in real estate as long as I can remember. Helping my parents out on jobsites growing up, managing commercial properties, to now doing my own fix and flips as well as being a Realtor. Real estate is second nature to me, but customer service is paramount; there’s nothing more important than their comfort and satisfaction. So, being a Realtor who focuses on a positive client experience just makes sense, for me.
What is your business all about?
Being a realtor is all about taking my knowledge and expertise and doing my best to impart it to my clients. I’m intent on making sure my clients know what is going on every step of the way and never feel lost or in the dark.
What would you like your followers to take away from what you share?
That finding a quality realtor is paramount. Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest expenses/profits you will ever make. Having the right person to guide you through that in a positive light makes all the difference.
What inspires you and your business?
I get my inspiration when I hear people talk about their bad experiences with a Realtor, or that they don’t trust them. It fuels my drive to be the best real estate agent that I can be; changing hearts and minds, and helping people understand that I truly care about them.
What’s one thing you’d like customers to know about your business?
I think it’s come through in my previous responses, but, to be blunt, I want my clients to know that I actually care. I’ve had a terrible Realtor myself and I don’t want any of my clients to experience that. Buying or selling a home should be a happy occasion (for the most part), and your Realtor should help that experience move smoothly.
Do you have any main influences as far as your work style or ethic?
Influences… I wouldn’t say influences, but I definitely have my own style. I’m very direct and honest while still maintaining compassion. I treat people how I’d want to be treated and spoken to. I’m real and honest.
What are some future goals you are working on as far as the business/craft?
I’m always working on expanding my client base. But, I am also focussed on increasing/getting back to rehabbing properties (fix and flips) as well as, ultimately, developing land. I think the future lies in efficient homes as far as energy consumption and size — developing neighborhoods of tiny homes that are of quality construction and feature smart tech, I feel, would satisfy a glut in the market.
